Pamela PJ 34-Inch Long-Scale Bass in Deep Water Glow with EMG Geezer Butler PJ Pickup Set

This bass is modeled after the most important bass in history, and is named for the most important person in my life. It does feature some improvements over the original (the bass, not my wife), including a 21 fret neck, a radiused heel to allow better access to that extra fret, and access to the truss rod in the heel, so the neck doesn't have to be removed to adjust it.

The bass is equipped with an EMG Geezer Butler PJ pickup set with a series/parallel switch for the P pickup, which allows for more of a Jazz bass tone when the neck pickup is in parallel and both pickups on fool. Or you can get your Peter Hook on for your Joy Division/New Order tribute band.

The body is made from textured/lightly distressed Eastern White Pine in our Deep Water Glow dye finish. People often question how pin sounds. Well, according to one tonewood dealer that sells both pine and alder, "(Pine) Sounds like what Alder would like to sound like if it could. It’s like wiring the pickup directly to the jack and turning off the compressor."

The 21 fret Hades roasted maple neck with rosewood fretboard is reinforced with carbon fiber rods. The nut width is a modern P-bass sized 1.625", and the finish is a satin oil/poly blend. The neck gets sanded to 600 grit, while we bullet nose the fret ends and polish them to a smooth 12,000 grit. All of which makes it a real joy to play.

A set of DR Strings Dragon Skin strings run between a Gotoh vintage-style, solid brass bridge over a Tone Ninja nut to a set of Gotoh Res-O-Lite tuners.

The bass weighs in at a nice and light 7.95 lbs., but it still balances perfectly on a strap.

The bass comes with a 20mm padded Gator 4G gig bag.
