Both pickups sport AlNiCo V magnets, but the PVHZ has a slightly scooped midrange making it balance perfectly with the more aggressive mids of the Geezer Butler P, which is sitting in the much weaker bridge position.

The electronics feature a series/parallel, push/pull volume for each pickup to give you a wide array of tonal possibilities (8 different ones before you touch the tone knob or mess with the preamp), a passive tone control, and a Trickfish Flexcore 3-band preamp, powered by a single 9v battery.
